About Us
Who We Are
What is Macchi’s Den?

Macchi’s Den is an independent publisher based in California.

Our current series is Caelos and Red Runner — five books that follow a curious child named Caelos and their companion Red Runner on adventures into the ocean, the sky, and the earth. Every illustration is an original watercolor painting.

Where is Macchi’s Den located?

Macchi’s Den is based in California. Our books and products are available to readers nationwide and internationally through Amazon, Ingram Spark and our Zazzle shop.

Is Macchi’s Den a traditional publisher or self-publisher?

Macchi’s Den is an independent publisher. We own all of our intellectual property, create everything in-house, and distribute through Amazon KDP and Ingram Spark. That means no gatekeepers — just books we believe in, made the way we want to make them.

What does the name “Macchi’s Den” mean?

Macchi is our dog. The den is where the work happens. It’s as simple and as personal as that.

Books
The Caelos and Red Runner Series
What books does Macchi’s Den publish?

Our current catalog is the Caelos and Red Runner series — five titles for children ages 4–8, all hand-painted in watercolor:

  • The Little Ones — Book 1
  • Into the Waves — Book 2
  • Into the Sky — Book 3
  • Into the Earth — Book 4
  • Create Your Own Adventure — Book 5, a creative companion workbook

We also publish a Caelos and Red Runner Coloring Book and a compilation in both paperback and hard cover, Caelos and Red Runner: The Collected Adventures, which brings all five books together in one volume.

Who are the books for?

The picture books are written for children ages 4–8, though families tell us they work beautifully as read-alouds for a range of ages. The Create Your Own Adventure workbook is especially good for early writers who want to tell their own stories, or as a prompt book to help pass the time — road trips, waiting rooms, quiet afternoons. The coloring book works for any age that likes to color.

What formats are available?

The individual picture books are available in paperback (8.5″ × 8.5″) and Kindle ebook. The compilation, Caelos and Red Runner: The Collected Adventures, is available in paperback (8.5″ × 8.5″), hardcover (8.5″ × 11″), and Kindle. The coloring book is available in paperback.
